Taking the Time

I was raised on a historic ranch in British Columbia Canada. Riding the range on my horse and moving our cows was my life and being in nature was the best life ever. Taking the time to let the cows settle and find their calves as we progressed high into the range was important as it kept them calm and moving forward, and caused very little stress. Life was simple and life was beautiful on our horses riding and pushing our cows out to the summer range. This image portrays our lives as ranchers. Its a lifestyle of respect and love. I wouldn't have it any other way. I painted this in oils on a 16x20 "canvas
