Canoe View

Oil painting done entirely with palettes knives.
I took my reference photo in Hawaii, so the tree reflections in the water showed trees that would be recognized by locals here. I decided to change the trees to those seen on the mainland, to give it a more universal appearance.
The subject in the photo was actually just a 4 foot tub that contained the lily pads. I made full use of my artistic license in this piece.
