To accurately express myself, I thought it was best to paint myself as an artist surrounded by my materials: messy drop cloth, paints and brushes, and my palette. The idea of this painting spawned from the existential crisis I think all artists go through at some point--Will my art be remembered after I'm dead? Will it be celebrated or will it be worth nothing? There's really no way to know for sure but to be honest I think I'll fade into obscurity. But that's okay. It doesn't stop me from creating. Sometimes art is a lovely splash of color, and sometimes it's about baring your soul and letting the world judge you.
