Foggy Shore

This Plein Air Painting was completed at Deer Isle on the coast of Maine. I had originally planned to paint a nice day with the sun hitting the boats and that is what my original sketch was. However, when I got up the next morning the fog was so thick it felt wet as I sat looking out. I felt disappointed at first but as I began to paint I realized that the fog was lovely. That beautiful soft light and it just make the water and sky bright and beautiful. So, I painted it as I saw it and loved it in the end.
