Mt Major Summit

Inspired by an adventurous hike to Mt. Major Summit in New Hampshire, the artist took the inspiration back to the studio for a vigourous painting session to capture the feel of that adventure. The large brush strokes in the foreground hark to the many visitors making their way to the summit, disturbing the snow but adding to the texture of the piece. The distant view of the water sits back with an even toned strokes and setting apart from the foliage that opens up tot he view. Painted with Gold Acrylics on hemp linen, the artist recreated this breathtaking scene on a larger scale in an attempt to display the vastness that was felt on location.
