Summer Holidays

I went up to Boulder to paint the Flatirons for a commission. I spent a couple days sketching in oils and pencils and came back to the studio. I tried to capture the feeling of golden summer holidays for the client, for whom the place held special memories. The reference photos were gray and March, so I came up with a lot of the tones out of my head, highlighting the "magical memories" feel I was going for.
