Morning at Vasquez Rocks

Vasquez Rocks is located in Santa Clarita California. For many years I've tried to capture the many colors that are reflected off of the rocks. Finally I decided to go back several times to study and capture the light. This morning was brilliant. I worked until the light changed and then went my studio and used other studies to complete the final painting. I was pleased to note that the painting also changed colors as the light changed inside my home.
