Leadbetter Blues

I dropped down the steps behind Leadbetter Point in Santa Barbara, and was greeted with the beauty of the setting sun striking the point and its bluff-top tree. Sailboats in the distance scudded by under the towering Santa Ynez Mountains, as the waves lapped against the rocks at the base of the cliffs, It was idyllic, and had to be painted! I drew it first with a big red chisel-marker, and then generously added acrylic paint to cover some of the line-work. The end result is a rather pleasing--to me--"electric" effect.
